Nurtured Path: Foundations of Birth
Preparing to welcome your baby is a journey — and you don’t have to walk it alone. Our group birthing classes in Portland create a supportive space where you can learn the essentials of labor, birth, and postpartum while building trust in yourself and connection with others. Together, we’ll cover comfort techniques, partner support tools, and what to expect in the hours and days after birth — in a community where questions are encouraged, laughter is sacred, and every family’s path is honored. By the end of class, you’ll feel more confident, more connected, and ready to step into birth with the knowledge and support you need.
“When we enter the world of birth, we step across the threshold from the mundane to the sacred.”
The Nurtured Path: Foundations of Birth
At Wildwood Birth, we believe that every family deserves to enter birth from a nurtured foundation, feeling informed, empowered, and supported.
Our Foundations of Birth classes are designed to give you the tools, confidence, and grounding you need—whether you’re preparing for your first baby or your family is expanding.
Meeting in a small, welcoming group, we will share information about:
The physiology and stages of labor
Comfort techniques
Partner support tools
Options for pain management
Creating a birth plan
Informed decision-making and advocacy
Growing a support network that can continue beyond pregnancy
Together, you’ll share stories and questions, and we’ll equip you with the answers, clarity, and resources you need.
Our classes are rooted in the principles of trauma-informed care and are designed to prepare and uplift the whole family. Our approach is affirming of LGBTQIA+ families, diverse identities, bodies, and experiences, and neurodivergence. We work hard to create space for every family to feel welcomed, seen, and supported.
Foundations of Birth classes are taught by Wildwood Childbirth Educator, Bri Dewey.
