Birth & Baby Classes

All-in-one education so you’re ready for birth, and your baby, too.

There’s a moment in pregnancy when it all starts to feel very real. You imagine labor unfolding. You picture holding your baby for the first time. You wonder what those first nights at home will be like — how you’ll feel, what you and your baby will need, who you’ll become in the process.

Preparing for birth and the early weeks afterward is about so much more than just gathering information. It’s about creating a foundation that helps you move through each facet of this transition with confidence, trust in your resilience, and a plan to access the support you need.

The class gave us knowledge, but also a sense of calm. We felt more connected to each other and much more prepared for birth and life with a newborn.

The Nurtured Path: Birth & Baby

There’s a moment in late pregnancy when it all starts to feel very real. You imagine labor unfolding. You picture holding your baby for the first time. You wonder what those first nights at home will be like — how you’ll feel, what you’ll need, who you’ll become in the process.

Preparing for birth and the early weeks afterward isn’t just about information. It’s about creating a foundation that helps you move through both experiences with clarity, resilience, and support.

The Nurtured Path: Foundations of Birth and the Fourth Trimester brings our comprehensive birth education and newborn/postpartum preparation together into one cohesive learning experience. In this combined series, you’ll build skills for navigating labor and informed decision-making, while also preparing for feeding, soothing, recovery, and life with a newborn.

Together, we cover:

  • The physiology and stages of labor

  • Comfort techniques and partner support tools

  • Informed decision-making and advocacy

  • Newborn feeding, sleep, and soothing basics

  • Postpartum healing and emotional adjustment

  • Building a sustainable, realistic support plan

You’re welcome to take these classes in the order that fits your schedule — even if that means learning about life with your baby before diving into birth preparation. Many families find that beginning with the fourth trimester helps everything else click into place.

This bundle offers a complete arc of preparation — so you can approach birth and early parenthood feeling informed, grounded, and ready for what’s ahead.

Birth & Baby classes are taught by Wildwood Childbirth Educator, Bri Dewey, and Wildwood Postpartum Doula, Lakiah Olson.

Currently Offering:

Two Series in march and may

These bundles includes both our Foundations of the Fourth Trimester newborn care class and our Foundations of Birth childbirth education series, offering comprehensive preparation for birth, postpartum healing, and life with your newborn.

In these offerings, we begin by preparing for life after your baby arrives — exploring newborn care, feeding, soothing, and postpartum recovery — before coming together for an in-depth birth education series. While birth is a powerful and transformative moment, the fourth trimester is the part of the journey that lasts the longest. Beginning here helps center the daily rhythms of life with your baby and the care you’ll both need in those early weeks.

Many families find that starting with the fourth trimester brings clarity and context to the rest of their preparation. By the end of the series, you’ll have practical tools for navigating labor, caring for your newborn, and supporting your own healing and adjustment at home.
